Questions on Starting a Computer Education Business
What is provided as part of the Abacus Brain Study franchise system?
We will provide up to two weeks of headquarters-based training; both classroom and on-the-job, this pre-opening training will cover key business operations and management tasks. In connection with the opening of your computer education business, we will also provide initial on-site assistance and additional training at your center location. We’ll also present you with a copy of our confidential operations manual to help you run your center properly on a day-to-day basis.
What experience do I need to become an Abacus Brain Study franchise owner?
You do not have to have experience with computer education business or in the child education field. Franchise owners who don’t have prior experience in the education industry can hire educator staff for their centers. We do seek positive and motivated franchise owners who can bring their business skills to the ABS system.
How much will the Abacus Brain Study franchise investment cost me?
The projected initial investment range for a single start-up location is between $72,730 and $149,200; this investment amount includes an initial franchise fee of $25,000. As with any new business venture, it’s important that you have the capital needed to adequately fund your new business.
Are there other ongoing fees paid to the franchisor?
A fee of $5.00 per lesson per student will be paid by franchise owners as royalty payments. Royalties will be deducted against a replenishable deposit balance established by the franchisee with the franchisor. Franchisees will also pay a technology fee of $50 a month. These fees allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of services and product selections, marketing tools, training programs, and systems upgrades.
Are there any advertising fees?
Franchisees will be required to spend a minimum of 2% of gross revenues on local/co-op advertising, and will also be required to contribute 1% of gross revenues into the system marketing fund. Collected funds will be used to develop marketing strategies to promote the Abacus Brain Study brand and fund the creative costs to develop local franchise marketing materials and campaigns.
Is financing available?
We do not offer direct financing to franchisees. We may be able to provide references to qualified financing or lending resources, on a case-by-case basis.
What is the term of the franchise agreement?
The initial term of your franchise agreement is five years, with additional successor agreement options of five years.
